It may come as a surprise but before one jumps into conclusion, here’s how the director duo of Vikas Bahl and Nitesh Tiwari got a Filmfare before 2011 ends. Apparently Salim Khan, co-writer of cult classics like Zanjeer, Deewar and Sholay after watching son Salman’s maiden production ‘Chillar Party’ was mighty impressed before handing over Filmfare award that he and Javed Akhtar won for Zanjeer (1973) to the director duo.
Incidentally this is not the first time that Salim saab has given his trophies. He earlier had given away his awards to the team of ‘A Wednesday’ (2008) and to Farhan Akhtar, for his acting debut in Rock On! (2008). Salim saab feels that its his way of appreciating the good work.
The duo of Vikas Bahl and Nitesh Tiwari are elated to get such an award from Salim saab. And right now they are keenly waiting for the audience response as Chillar Party is scheduled to release this Friday. Salman is co-producing the film with UTV.
