South director Susi Ganesan, who is making his directorial debut in Bollywood, is keen to do more Hindi films as it brings more recognition.
The filmmaker is now looking forward to the release of 'Shortcut Romeo', which will also be promoted at the Cannes film festival.
"Bollywood is more famous than our industry down south. Today, Hindi films have a wider reach, the movie market here is bigger. They (Hindi films) have audience globally. Hence, I want to be here for some time, show my versatility," Ganesan told .
"I am not going back and making southern films. I want to make more Hindi films. I will make at least 5-6 Hindi films and see how things shape up here," he said.
'Shortcut Romeo' is a remake of his own Tamil hit film 'Tiruttu Payale'.
"The basic plot of the story remains the same. We have made changes keeping in mind Hindi film audience," Ganesan said.
The Hindi version of the romantic thriller has Neil Nitin Mukesh, Puja Gupta and Ameesha Patel in the lead roles.
"I am quite happy with my casting. From Neil to Ameesha to Puja everyone is a surprise package. Everyone has done a good job," Ganesan said.
The film is set to release on April 5.
