Chennai Super Kings skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
The match fixing net is being spread far and wide, with police trying to question the CEO of the Chennai Super Kings. Unfortunately, he was able to evade questioning, and no one was home. But the very fact that the most successful team in the league is being investigated for throwing matches is a sign that no one is safe. Maybe CSK has been able to go through to the finals only because everyone else was fixing more matches than them!
To truly understand whether CSK is guilty or not, it will be necessary to examine every facet of their performance in IPL 6. Here's our exclusive analysis:
1. They manage to lose despite the presence of two Super Kings: Sir Jadeja is a member of the CSK team, and Rajinikanth lives in Chennai. Despite the presence of these living legends, the team still manages to lose a few matches here and there. Is this not evidence of fixing? If they were playing to their potential, they would win each T20 match by 2000 runs.
2. Every CSK player has worn towels in half the matches this season: Whenever CSK has played at home, we have seen every member of the team use a towel. Granted, it's probably because of the heat, but we don't trust towels any more.
3. They lost to Pune Warriors this IPL: And that is something very few other teams have ever managed. And now, with Sahara pulling them out, no one may ever be able to lose to them again.
4. They lost to KKR in last year's finals: KKR, the team which lost every other match this IPL, and then went ahead and lost some more.
5. The name of their team tries too hard: Putting Super and Kings in a team name - especially after Chennai, which isn't really a super city - smacks of trying too hard to deflect attention away from any misdeeds they might be doing.
6. They always wait till the last minute: To perform, and this could be because they're waiting for the betting rates to climb to astronomical odds, before Dhoni pulls a victory out of the jaws of defeat. Yet again.
And, speaking of Dhoni...
7. Dhoni's initials are suspect: MSD sounds a lot like LSD, a hallucinogenic drug which has earned a lot of dealers a lot of money. Isn't this proof that he will do anything for money, even leading the CSK team into sin?
Do you also think CSK might be guilty of fixing?
